Newport Beach Aikido Overview
Training is focused on discipline, skills and ministering to other people. Through development of the body and soul, these “uchideshi” – students — look to build genuine quality and intelligence.
The uchideshi custom continues in some dojos in Aikido. Sugano Shihan was the uchideshi to the organizer of Aikido and at Newport Beach Aikido, they have Sensei Pennewaert who was Shihan’s uchideshi for more than 25 years.
