An Overview of Aikido Doshinokai Association

The Aikido Doshinokai Association and its members share the objective of advancing the standards, practice, and theory of the martial craft of Aikido, as created by Morihei Ueshiba, the originator. Aikido Doshinokai was founded in 2000 by Haruo Matsuoka, sixth dan.

Matsuoka Sensei was an immediate student of Seiseki Abe Sensei, (1915-2011), one of the most prominent supporters of Aikido, and the organizer’s shodo (Japanese calligraphy) educator. His aikido was instrumental in bringing awareness of aikido to the United States in the wake of moving to America during the 1980s with Steven Seagal, his first aikido instructor.
