Professional Associations for MMA Instructors

There are no associations, mainly for MMA instructors. At an amateur level, MMA is regulated under the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation and the World MMA Association. They are more geared to the regulation of competition and promotion with the direction of instruction a matter for the regulatory bodies of the specific disciplines.

Both are geared toward ensuring that MMA is allowed the same recognition and rights as other major sport. In 2018 the two organizations amalgamated to better promote the sport for a bid to be represented as an Olympic sport – reflecting the more administrative focus of the organizations.
