General requirements for an HVAC contractor license?
• Master HVACR Contractor – must have been licensed as a Journeyman HVACR Tech for three years and worked under the supervision of a licensed Master for two years and pass the Master HVACR Contractor exam.
• Master Restricted HVACR Contractor – must have been licensed as a Journeyman HVACR Tech for three years and worked under the supervision of a licensed Master for two years and pass the Master HVACR Restricted Contractor exam.
• Limited HVACR Contractor – must have been licensed as a Journeyman HVACR Tech for three years and worked under the supervision of a licensed Master HVACR Contractor for two years, plus pass the Limited HVACR Contractor exam.
• All contractors must carry at least $300,000 in general liability insurance and $100,000 in property damage insurance.
