Live Chat Widget

The PocketSuite live chat widget is a website plugin you embed on your website that lets customers message and communicate with you on the fly. Visitors can message you from your social page or website and you receive it via text (sms). The chat will capture their phone # in case you miss their message for followup later!

Chat widget instructions:

Add the chat widget to your website using the following instructions (note your “USERNAME” can be found in the instructions email you send yourself by going to Settings  > Online Chat > Send instructions, in the PocketSuite app)…

Insert the code snippet below anywhere inside the <head> of the sites header:

I don’t have a website. Can I still use the chat online?

Yes, you can – just add the link to your chat widget to your social media (IG/FB), email signature, or anywhere online.

Is this secure? How do you prevent spam?

Yes – we use authentication in the widget, in order for them to message you they must verify their phone numbers.

Will visitors to my website need to download PocketSuite?

No. All interactions between you and the client occur over text messaging.

Instructions for Social Platforms


There are two spots on your facebook page you can add your chat link. (1) Website link: Go to your “About” section. Click ‘Edit Page Info’ at the top right. Paste your chat link ( under Website field. (2) On a business page click (+ Add a Button) on the home screen below your page banner. Choose your call to action text for the button and paste the code to your chat page (, Save Changes.


Tap the bottom right most button to navigate to your IG page. Select “Edit Profile” below your follower/following counts. In the Website field, past your chat widget url (, click Done at the top right.

Instructions for Website Hosting Platforms


Click Embed Code and drag & drop block into page. Double click block, configure alignment, and then copy & paste widget code. Save and publish your page.


Click Add (+), select Apps, and select HTML, and set the Mode field to HTML code. Copy and paste the widget code into the HTML / embed code field. Move the field around as you see fit. Because the HTML code block is absolutely positioned using an IFRAME (as opposed to displayed inline on the page), ensure that the field size in the bottom right corner has a minimum size of 404 x 644. Save and publish your page.


Go to the Builder section and select Custom HTML (usually under the Other category). Drag and drop it to the <head> section of the homepage. Double click the Custom HTML field on your page then paste the widget code into this field. Save and publish your page.


Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection. Copy and paste the code into the header box. Squarespace will autosave the change and will now show on all pages of the site.

WordPress (or Custom Design)

Copy and paste widget code into <head> and it will appear on any page.
