I just completed the 12 sessions with Christy and it saved my life! Two years divorced and years of trauma leading up to that point … I could not have made this progress without her. I was starting to feel my nervous system breaking down and coping mechanisms that were taking me in all the wrong directions. After I started Christy’s therapy I started noticing my physical symptoms were subsiding and I actually felt safe, whole again and healing. Thank you Christy for helping me live again!

Christy has helped me heal and process trauma more in a few sessions with her than I ever did with 10+ years of traditional talk therapy. Every penny spent on our time together has been worth it. Christy has a gift that is really hard to find. After years of trying healing approaches, I finally found what I searched for all along with her- I’ll always remember my immediate “aha” moment where for the first time, I had legitimate hope in my healing journey and realized that the approach for this I desired and felt aligned with really does exist. I took Christ’s gluten free sourdough class a few weeks ago. She gave us some great hints and pointers and enough information to go home and make bread. I have been making about a loaf each week- successfully! This bread is so much better than the store bought bread. Thank you, Christy!

Christy has a natural ability to make you feel at ease and very comfortable as soon as you meet her. I experienced 20 years of emotional and mental trauma in my marriage, which manifested in a lot of pain in my physical body. Even Christian marriage counseling did not help. Two years ago, I had a realization, an awakening, that came with many profound changes, a lot of which were confusing and I did not understand. At this point in time, I have been counseling with Christy for only a few months but she has helped me understand these changes and learn how to heal from within. I don’t know where to start. From the very first day I met Christy, my son and I felt an immediate connection. My son suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, and we have tried many therapists over the years. Unfortunately, he never looked forward to his appointments—until we found Christy. Now, our son Noah eagerly anticipates his sessions with her. We have seen a significant change in Noah. He has learned techniques from Christy that help him manage his anxiety—skills that previous therapists or we as parents could not provide. Many of those therapists suggested medicating him, essentially offering a temporary solution rather than addressing the root of the problem. Just last week, while we were on vacation 12 hours from home, Noah experienced a severe panic attack. He needed to speak with Christy, and she seamlessly fit him into her schedule for a phone call. After their conversation, Noah felt calm and chose to go outside to practice the techniques they had discussed. I cannot praise Christy enough. She is warm, caring, inviting, insightful, and genuinely talented at what she does. It’s often said that people are put on this earth for a reason, and I believe Christy is here to help others heal. It's hard to put into words what working with Christy has meant to me and my life. My words are going to fall short. I had done talk therapy for a couple of years before finding Christy and felt like I had reached the end of my road with it at the time. As a young adult who has struggled with mental health for several years, seen so many different counselors and therapists that I've lost count, and tried and failed many prescriptions, Christy Cotterman has been a saving grace. I have had the pleasure of working with Christy since August and feel compelled to share my experience. I stumbled upon her information last year while searching for a therapist. I have seen a couple within the past years, but have never continued with my sessions because I felt as though nothing was really being accomplished. I basically sat there during those sessions doing all of the talking without any feedback except for a head nod and a question here and there. This experience was different!!! She has helped me tremendously in the short amount of time I’ve spent with her and for that, I am beyond thankful. Not only am I seeing how her work has helped me with my trauma and past experiences, but it surpassed my expectations because I also feel better physically. I suffer from autoimmune diseases and my fingers used to look like swollen little sausages, evident by the mark left by my ring, but since I have been seeing her, the swelling has subsided and my hands look normal. My fingers have been like this for as long as I can remember. I didn’t pay much attention to it in the beginning, because this was a finding I never anticipated, but one day, I realized my ring was loose because it was sliding around on my finger. Imagine my surprise when I looked down at my hands and noticed my fingers were remarkably thinner. . As my sessions have progressed, my swelling is basically gone and my hands look normal. I did begin taking photos to follow the progression, but wish I would have done so earlier. I have not changed anything in my diet, or altered my lifestyle in anyway, I attribute this to her and the work we have done.. If this is what I am seeing on the outside, I can only imagine what has happened to me on the inside! I feel as though my body held onto this trauma therefore causing internal inflammation, but she helped me release it and now my outward self is reflecting this change. She is kind and understanding with a wealth of knowledge to share. She has passed on some of her nutritional and healing tips, and has given me self-confidence and freedom. What a great way to enter my 50s next year! If you’re questioning it, don’t. You are worth it!

How do you put into words an opportunity to truly change your life. I lost my mom and a friend within months of each other when I was in college. I thought for years that I had “dealt” with the tragedies as best as I could. I gradually added health issues and increasing anxiety. I avoided conversations that had anything to do with my mom or mothers in general but thought I was fine. One day my three year asked where is your mom and I felt like I might throw up. I realized I needed help to deal with pain that I had packed up and shoved away. My husband recommended I talk to Christy and I went in thinking I don’t need this! Ha was I ever wrong. Christy made me feel so comfortable. She was a sounding board, advice giver, healer, friend, and someone who brought me to happiness. I have had many more life situations over the years that have brought me to my knees but Christy has helped me navigate them all. She has taught me how to help myself heal. I described her sessions to a friend today and said when I leave I see the world different. I notice the sun, how blue the sky is. I sing loudly in my car and feel the wind on my face. After the death of my husband 7 years ago I was lost but I didn't think I needed help. I walked into Christy's office for my first appointment utterly broken and beaten down. I was filled with unresolved trauma and grief. I didn't like myself and my decision-making reflected that. Two years ago, I had a realization, an awakening, that came with many profound changes, a lot of which were confusing and I did not understand. I don’t know where to start. From the very first day I met Christy, my son and I felt an immediate connection. It's hard to put into words what working with Christy has meant to me and my life. My words are going to fall short. I had done talk therapy for a couple of years before finding Christy and felt like I had reached the end of my road with it at the time. I have had the pleasure of working with Christy since August and feel compelled to share my experience. I stumbled upon her information last year while searching for a therapist. I have seen a couple within the past years, but have never continued with my sessions because I felt as though nothing was really being accomplished. I basically sat there during those sessions doing all of the talking without any feedback except for a head nod and a question here and there. This experience was different!!! She has helped me tremendously in the short amount of time I’ve spent with her and for that, I am beyond thankful. Not only am I seeing how her work has helped me with my trauma and past experiences, but it surpassed my expectations because I also feel better physically. I suffer from autoimmune diseases and my fingers used to look like swollen little sausages, evident by the mark left by my ring, but since I have been seeing her, the swelling has subsided and my hands look normal. My fingers have been like this for as long as I can remember. I didn’t pay much attention to it in the beginning, because this was a finding I never anticipated, but one day, I realized my ring was loose because it was sliding around on my finger. Imagine my surprise when I looked down at my hands and noticed my fingers were remarkably thinner. . As my sessions have progressed, my swelling is basically gone and my hands look normal. I did begin taking photos to follow the progression, but wish I would have done so earlier. I have not changed anything in my diet, or altered my lifestyle in anyway, I attribute this to her and the work we have done.. If this is what I am seeing on the outside, I can only imagine what has happened to me on the inside! I feel as though my body held onto this trauma therefore causing internal inflammation, but she helped me release it and now my outward self is reflecting this change. She is kind and understanding with a wealth of knowledge to share. She has passed on some of her nutritional and healing tips, and has given me self-confidence and freedom. What a great way to enter my 50s next year! If you’re questioning it, don’t. You are worth it!

How do you put into words an opportunity to truly change your life. I lost my mom and a friend within months of each other when I was in college. I thought for years that I had “dealt” with the tragedies as best as I could. I gradually added health issues and increasing anxiety. I avoided conversations that had anything to do with my mom or mothers in general but thought I was fine. One day my three year asked where is your mom and I felt like I might throw up. I realized I needed help to deal with pain that I had packed up and shoved away. My husband recommended I talk to Christy and I went in thinking I don’t need this! Ha was I ever wrong. After the death of my husband 7 years ago I was lost but I didn't think I needed help.
