Trained BJJ briefly almost a decade ago, wanted to get back into it looked for gyms near me, this one was close to work so I decided to call. Marty on phone was courteous told me what to wear bring water even sent me reminder text day before class. I had my first free class last Friday, coach Felicia was sweet and supportive she walked me through to get me reacquainted it was nice having her spend so much time with me there was another student there but he understood it was my first time and was patient and polite. Had such a wonderful experience and Felicia understood me that I couldn’t help but sign up. Had my second class today again had same wonderful experience she made me laugh while teaching me and again was super helpful met another coach RJ he seemed super chill too, coming from SoCal this is exactly the atmosphere I was praying for. Looking forward to future classes!!!!

My two boys (8 & 5)have been attending the summer classes here twice a week and it has been great. The pricing is very reasonable and the instructor has been very accommodating. There are multiple ways to pay including cash & there is a very steep (50%) discount for additional children. Parking is available right in front of the class & there are a few eating options very close by which is convenient for having lunch after class. We have only been in class for 2 weeks so far but each week has had a set of workout drills to open the class which have been the same and then a game at the end which appear to be building the foundational skills needed for BJJ in the future. I highly recommend contacting the gym if you are interested in classes here!

Pricing is reasonable. I also like the schedule is easily accessible on their site. Each day is a different art so there are variety of skills and techniques to learn. Class schedules are open so can drop in whatever days align with your availability. The coaches are very detailed in explaining the techniques and also why the technique is performed in a specific manner and they also do great in letting everyone move at their individual pace within classes.

It's a great gym! Best classes and instructors. It's a chill vibe with cool people.

My experience with Ronin MMA was amazing. The professor was friendly and welcomed me and my buddy with open arms. She took the time to teach us some new submissions and escapes. The members were also very polite and helped us with our stand-up. If you are ever in the area and looking for a positive and helpful BJJ gym I highly recommend Ronin MMA. They also specialize in Muaythai and MMA. I am looking forward to visiting soon.

Usually small class size which is my preference personally. Very flexible and fair pricing, you just have to ask. Nobody is too rough or douchey when sparring. Coaches are willing to answer my dumb questions without getting upset. Cool people and fun to train with overall.On my very first day, I came in and roughed up this guy really good think he said his name was Patrick. Cool guy though.

My kids have been coming to Ronin for BJJ since summer of 2022. They have learned so much and grown as people and athletes. They are always excited for class night! The coaches are excellent and work with kids of all levels and different learning abilities. I can’t recommend this gym enough!

My wife and I attended at different levels of experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and helped us both grow in training. Technique is encouraged and emphasized over brute strength and everyone has a chance to train with each other. The facility is a lot cleaner than other gyms I’ve been to and the gym offers great deals for vets, including Mission 22 and Make a Vet Sweat.

Our family has been members of this gym for 2 years now. As soon as our daughter started her first jui jitsu class we were welcomed as family! The coaches are expertly trained. They are encouraging and challenging at the same time. The cost is very reasonable. My daughter feels so confident and powerful. We have seen that she can utilize the self defense strategies to protect herself and others. This gym is run by a knowledgeable, dedicated veteran who is an inspiration to all business owners!

Super dope place lots to learn and take in

My 16/yo son started training about 4 weeks ago and has learned so much. They have created an environment that is great for seasoned and beginners. Each coach brings a different style to the floor so students get a variety of training. Students help each other out and everyone grows together. We are looking forward to see their new Alamo Ranch location - set to open soon.

Found this gym just searching Maps and I'm very happy we found it. My 10 yr old didn't have any experience in MMA but now after only 4 weeks he's very knowledgeable and excited to get home to show me and his mother what he's learned. There are also many other kids in this gym and loves to train after school.

The coaches are excellent and extremely knowledgeable! They truly love what they do and it shows in the classes and gym atmosphere. We went to several places and this place was the one that stood out especially that they are Veteran Owned. Everyone is so nice and they made us feel welcomed. My daughter enjoys attending classes frequently in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. She always looks forward to learning something new and being challenged. The coaches are supportive and have helped my daughter reach her full potential as a person and as an athlete. It’s a great time with great people and a welcoming environment for everyone but make no mistake this is a team of hard working champions!

I was in San Antonio for business and didn't want to skip to many training sessions. I had emailed the gym before the trip an I got a quick response that answered all of my questions. When I showed up for Muay Thai class I got a friendly welcome and a great workout. The owner and staff are awesome. It's a cozy gym, but with everything that a Martial Arts gym should have. I highly recommend it, and will go back if I ever find myself in San Antonio again.

I was in San Antonio for a college function for a few days and got into contact with Ronin MMA to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. They welcomed me in as a temporary student and treated me as one of their consistent students. The classes were solid working with all levels of students efficiently. We worked through techniques then they opened up the mat for students to roll. They have do quality training and train hard! I’m glad I got to meet everyone there!

Great gym, no drama, we take training seriously but not ourselves. The teachers a very knowledgeable and patient. Whether you have experience or no experience if you come to a class you will be challenged and have a lot of fun.

Just went by tonight to try it out. Great place. The trainer was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and took time explaining the techniques to the class. The people working out and training there are also a welcoming group and everyone is supporting everyone else as they learn. I’ll definitely be singing up . Highly recommended you try it out.

I love this facility! They have such a great team at Ronin! Everyone is so encouraging and very welcoming. They posses a very family friendly environment optimal for learning and be physically fit for everyone. Ronin MMA is the place to be if you are wanting to expand your knowledge and challenge yourself. The gym has awesome training space and the family environment is highly conducive to learning. The school offers BJJ, MMA, and Muay Thai with excellent instructors; eager to pass on their knowledge. I have been here for a few months and I am completely ecstatic with not only the knowledge I have gained, but my weight loss as well. AMAZING !!! I have 2 sons that started training. My 9 yr old with autism and he loves it. My 16 yr old son also enjoys it. Im 42 and now I have to join 2 days of the week since I had my azz handed to me by my 16yr.

Been going to this mma gym for a few months now and it's hands down the best decision I've made. I've learned lots of cool and useful skills in kick boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the people and coaches I've met along the way are some of the best and coolest people ever. Going on week three of MMA and I love it. Having been diagnosed with PTSD at 18 it's a little difficult to function in life...I've since realized how important it really is to be active. I've had numerous therapists, counselors, psychiatrists, and meds...Speaking for myself..I feel I've finally found something that helps my episodes. While developing skills, technique, great work out, and body/mind conditioning..the benefits are endless. On top of having a great coach, tons of fun, and a safe place to be. For me MMA is becoming therapy in itself.
