I can’t say enough good things about Alen and Raylynn with Ohana Dog Training. They truly go above and beyond and make you feel like you and your dog are part of their family. They’ve been working with my 3-year-old Doberman, and the results have been incredible. I see a noticeable difference every single day—better behavior, better focus, and overall a much happier, more balanced dog. What really stands out is how much they genuinely care. This isn’t just a business to them—they’re invested in both the dogs and the owners, and it shows in everything they do. I couldn’t be happier with the experience and highly recommend them to anyone serious about training their dog the right way.

This trainer was a godsend for me. My adopted dog was being very aggressive in my apartment building and even though I had trained on aggressive leash habits, I was basically operating with a defensive posture, endeavoring to avoid interactions instead of properly handling my dog. I learned this from Raylynn. Raylynn is a compassionate person and very ethical trainer. I liked that the animals were allowed to stay in the house and be a part of the family at times. Her updates really helped me to relax around the separation, as Zapata has anxiety issues. He took a ling time to adjust and Raylynn assured me that she would allow for flexibility in the program to adjust to his needs. Raylynn determined pretty quickly that the issues were centered around Zap and my interactions and so she made a plan to visit with him at my apartment building multiple times a week. The combo of her boarded training and visitation generated an amazing change in Zap’s behavior in a relatively short period of time. We were able to pinpoint residents Zap feared, and sometimes we got lucky and they participated in the training. It was wonderful! Raylynn’s approach showed a deep love for dogs, but a realistic approach to the way owners interface with their animals. I needed to become more in control and it took place through some pretty simple changes. Even so, I found myself feeling insecure and she read this right away. She focused upon giving me encouragement and pointers and reminders to stay mindful of my dog. This added touch, of meeting with me and Zap together, then leaving with Zap in tow, very much motivated Zap AND me to want to change to set things right. I feel so happy to give a high recommendation of Raylynn’s training abilities and this program. Additionally, Zap bonded with her and now I have a place where I can board Zap if I travel! I trust Raylynn’s program completely. I know you will feel good about choosing her, too.

Miracle worker!! ❤️ we took our dog Oatmeal to Raylynn because he had severe separation anxiety. We couldn’t leave him at home alone without him barking from the second we left to the moment we got home, which was impacting our lifestyles. Before Raylynn my only option was to bring him to work with me each day and everywhere I went, as our neighbors were impacted. Oatmeal went to Raylynn for a two week board and train to work on this. We came back to a whole new dog as well as the tools and knowledge for us to continue it. We had never successfully been able to crate train him before Raylynn and now he loves and goes into his crate often on his own, and we are able to leave him home alone without him barking. I don’t know why we waited so long to do this, as this has changed our lives, and oatmeal’s life, for the better. He is now a confident and independent boy and I now know all my prior pitfalls to not get him into the same bad habits. The first day I took oatmeal back to work after the board and train I had five different coworkers comment on how confident and different he acted - and none of them knew I had even taken him to training! The biggest part is that Raylynn spent 3 hours with us at our home teaching us everything we needed to know to maintain his behavior. This was the best decision I have made - thank you Raylynn!!

I reached out to Ohana Dog Training after I found an abused GSD in need of a safe and loving home. At first I couldn’t get near Kobe (GSD) he bit me on the leg and I had decided this wasn’t a good fit.. however my lovely lady and I talked it over and we decided to give training a try. Raylynn came and evaluated Kobe and told us he was outside of her scope of training, but she knew a gentleman in Utah who could help. That’s when we met Glen…in short, Glen did an amazing job with Kobe! I’m able to walk with him now, pet him, play, etc…. He’s still a work in progress but we’re earning his trust and he’s settling in to his new environment. Each and every day he shows improvement! Thank you Raylynn and Glen for helping me save Kobe!!!

It's a fantastic place to bring my dogs. I would give it more than 5 stars!! I feel they get a vecation too, running around with other dogs. The owners keep the facility nice and clean. Love the pictures sent during the stay. My dogs are 11, but they run around like puppies. Makes me smile:)

The best!! I found OhanaK9 when I was looking for help with a rescue dog I was fostering. The pup was starting to show some signs of aggression toward newcomers to our house. Raylynn started with a home visit so she could see the reaction when someone entered the house and recommended a few different options of what we would need to do to address the behavior. We started with some half day lessons and I could see the improvement immediately. We ended up boarding the pup for a weekend due to some planned travel, and the day before pick-up, Raylynn contacted us asking if she could keep Molly for a few extra days at no charge to the rescue. She had seen such progress and wanted to work with us to ensure Molly was ready for adoption. Raylynn and her team became an integral part of Molly’s transformation from a stranger wary pup to one that was easily managed with the proper commands and established expectations. I am so happy we found her!!! Molly has settled in with her new family, and OhanaK9 is the only one I call for future training needs. Thank you OhanaK9.

I am new using Ohana Dog Training. Raylynn and her "team" (including her beloved dogs) offered us an amazing first time experience, even in just a few short lessons. With her vast knowledge and simple directions, I have built more confidence in myself and gained valuable tools that have already changed how I'm interacting with two very strong-willed dogs. The dogs actually caught on to the commands immediately and are responding great. With some practice, I will be right where I want to be and we will all have more enjoyable walks in no time! I highly recommend Ohana for any training needs you may have.

We had the most incredible experience working with Raylynn as our dog trainer. She went above and beyond to ensure that our dog Tatoe received exceptional training, and also made sure we became knowledgeable and responsible dog owners. Raylynn's expertise, dedication, and genuine care for both Tatoe and us as owners were truly outstanding. From day one, Raylynn took the time to understand Tatoe's unique personality and needs, and provided us the education we needed to understand how best to support Tatoe and her reactivity. Her patience and calm demeanor created a positive learning environment that ultimately lead to Tatoe's ongoing progress. With a combination of training sessions, and boarding, we were able to receive valuable guidance, advice, and resources to strengthen our bond with Tatoe and enhance our overall dog handling skills. What truly sets Raylynn apart is her genuine care and the friendship we created. Raylynn and her husband welcomed us into their extended family, always ready to listen, share advice, and support us as fellow dog lovers. We cherish the bond we formed with them. Raylynn's professionalism, expertise, and passion for her work are commendable. With her help, Tatoe's behavior is night and day, and we grew into responsible owners. We feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with Raylynn, and we highly recommend them to anyone seeking an exceptional dog trainer who goes the extra mile. The most impactful takeaway that I have had in this experience, is how much there is to learn as a dog owner. Specifically for Tatoe, and her reactivity, my own emotions and actions can dictate so much and Raylynn knew how to not only instill confidence in her, but also me. Thank you, Raylynn and Alan, for everything you've done for us and our sweet Tatoe! We adore you both so much and could not be more grateful.

The best dog trainer! Highly recommending!!! Raylynn is the best and helped our family a lot with training Duke, our belgian malinois. Raylynn is super knowledgeable, has a lot of experience and put extraordinary patience into teaching us how to handle a such energetic dog. Raylynn went beyond our expectations and came with helpful solutions when we didn't know what to do. We cannot thank you her enough!

OhanaK9 has been nothing but amazing to my dog and I. Staff has taught me as the handler on how to become a better pet owner. With their expertise and knowledge my leash aggressive rottweiler has calmed down a lot. Not only on leash but in the home as well to become a better companion. They helped fixed my dogs resource guarding as well. I have brought Bruno to a few other trainers in the past and nothing has really worked until OhanaK9 took him in! I highly recommended.

Raylynn at Ohana Dog Training was a miracle worker. My 8 year old rescue Jackson had major leash aggression, barking constantly and jumping our fence to wonder the neighborhood. Which is not the greatest when you are an 80 pound pit bull mix. We were either gonna be sued, he would be euthanized, or hit by a car. This was our only hope at keeping everyone safe and me sane. After the 4 week board and train Jackson is a different dog. Thanks to Raylynn I am also a strong pack leader and better able to communicate with Jackson in a way that he understands. I didn't realize that my anxiety was causing his aggression. I can walk my dog safely, LIFE IS GOOD! Kudos to Raylynn and Ohana Dog Training
Hi Rijee, Thank you so much for your kind review! We are so glad to have been able to help Jackson, especially given the challenges he faced. His progress is a true testament to your dedication as an owner. It’s not easy working with a dog who has aggressive behaviors, and your commitment to Jackson’s well-being has played a huge role in his transformation. We’re so proud of both of you for the progress you’ve made, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see Jackson moving away from such a difficult situation. Please know that we’re here to support you every step of the way as you both continue this journey. Thank you again for trusting us with Jackson’s training — your dedication has made all the difference! Best regards, Raylynn Hill Ohana Dog Training LLC”

Raylynn has been wonderful! We attempted every dog training tool and watched every YouTube video, but we still dreaded each walk with our pup, Juniper, knowing that it was going to be a stressful experience full of pulling, lunging, and barking at other dogs. After a few weeks with Raylynn, she was completely different and we were much better trained to make sure we were in control of the situation. 5/5 stars - highly recommended!

Meeting RayLynn has been a game changer to re-gaining peace at home with the addition of our very smart and active puppy. Her confident and supportive manner extends to training us, teaching us to carry on the good work she does once puppy came home! Thanks RayLynn!

5 star training and staff! My puppy was a nightmare when we first got her but she came home from the puppy training course like a brand new dog. After my pups training they offered me and my son handlers training which I have never even heard of and boy it has helped tremendously!! We always feel so comfortable when our puppy is in their care. We've boarded with Ohana three times and our pup comes home happy and freshly groomed every time. Thanks a million

BEWARE OF BOARD AND TRAINING AT OHANA K9 Seattle! The facility, and experience couldn’t be more different than the website! By looking at, and reading the website i envisioned a light, happy, dog loving trainer, and experience. What I experienced was a small, dark, home training location, with a crabby trainer that didn’t want to talk with us, even the first meeting at drop off, and didn’t even greet our pup. I was refused 100% transparency through the entire 2 weeks. Raelynn wouldn’t let us in her home to see the conditions where our dog was going to be held. Why? Because, “It’s my home.” Well, it’s also a home business that deals with people in person, and people leaving their beloved pets. Although, children are obviously on an entirely different level, all I could think about is a home daycare that wouldn’t let you in. I should have walked away at this first red flag. Upon asking many times, I never got a photo of his crate, or the exact location where he was sleeping. I got random photos of the living room, and a corner of a room where there was a holding pen, barely large enough to lay in, and devoid of any toys or water. The lack of transparency continued from there, all calls were being recorded without my consent, I found this out when her assistant accidentally told me. Recording calls without consent is illegal in the state of Washington, and carries a fine of up to $5000, or up to one year in jail. I wasn’t told she had walkers, and other people helping her with training, who are these people? What is their past, and present treatment of animals? I didn’t get phone updates as the contract stated I would. I made the mistake of calling her the day after we dropped Blu off to see how he did overnight, and was greeted with contempt, and chastised for calling on a day outside the prearranged weekly day. I had to call Raelynn, and each time I was supposed to get an update, and even then she was brusk, curt, and acted like I was bothering and inconveniencing her. But, how was his training? He went to Raelynn knowing, sit, wait, down, paw, and up. We needed help with jumping, and leash pulling. She, or I have no idea who, worked on these things, and in addition, he learned to sit at thresholds. He pulled less on the leash, , but still jumped when greeting people. I chose the board and train option, because I’m in a wheelchair, and his 74 lb weight behind his hyper puppy behavior, like jumping ETC. was becoming dangerous for me. Unfortunately, our already bad experience ended even worse. I pulled Blu at two weeks out of the three weeks I’d paid for, resulting in a financial loss of around a $1000. I’d rather know what’s going on with my dog with 100% transparency, than leave him at a facility with a crabby trainer, and who know what else he’s is going on. Hopefully, she’s updated her contract since we were there at the end of January/February 2024, to include some of the deficits, sketchy actions, lack of communication, and illegal behavior, I’ve included here. I know she was going to rent a facility for drop off and pick up, so now you don’t even get to see her home/facility, where your dog will be staying. The bottom line is, if you don’t care where your dog is, who he/she is with, and what condition he/she is staying in, this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear! Pick a happy dog loving trainer, that likes to let you know what’s going on, and is happy to offer transparency every step of the way.
The name ‘Ohana’ speaks to who I am and to what I believe……’dogs are valuable family members’. I also understand my role as a dog trainer is not limited to just training the dog. True success only comes once I have spent time with the owner passing along those skills. Ohana is unlike many board and train programs. We invite and encourage all owners and family members to participate in any or all of the training sessions during the last portion of the program. We work with the owner on leash handling skills, reading body language and effective communication. Owners are encouraged to join myself and training assistants as we go on pack walks, to restaurants, breweries, farmers markets and group training sessions. Owners that refuse these sessions often experience regression in the training. Blu was signed up for a 3 week Board and Train program, but you decided to remove him before it was completed because it was in 'your best interest.' We respectfully agreed to comply with your decision. You then demanded a $1,100 refund saying, quote, "If you refuse to refund I will leave my dog with you against my will." You reiterated, "If there is no refund there is no termination!" and, "We have paid for 3 weeks- you refuse to release with no refund therefore he will stay for his 3 weeks." Your messages continued like this well past 8pm on Friday 2/8. In this same series of messages, you sent screenshots of the Ohana contract back to me. You circled sections that clearly state how no refunds shall be given, all fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, as if to prove your point. With this, you also threatened legal action against me. This deliberate, recalcitrant display continued the following day where, just one hour apart, you said both, "Just continue his training and end this- you are choosing this," and, "I asked for a polite back out at 2 weeks with refund." Since you were still willing to leave Blu in my care, I have no choice but to feel as though your motivation was financially-driven, even now, 4 months later, as opposed to being a training issue or anything related to transparency, communication and/or the accommodations we provided. Because of your decision to remove Blu, valuable opportunities were missed in which we could have worked together. We could have worked on reinforcing the sits, downs, threshold training, loose-leash walking, jumping and impulse control. We were thankful and encouraged by TJ's willingness to give us an opportunity to walk him through what Blu had learned in the 2 short weeks he was with us. With his permission, we recorded the 2-hour session so it could be shared with you. In addition to the go-home session, I invited you and your family to Home Depot and/or on a short walk around your neighborhood (due to your transportation issues). Our goal was to introduce you to what we've been working on; to offer support, help and guidance for you and your family before the actual go-home visit. Unfortunately, based on another section you circled in the contract and sent back to me, you mistook these practice sessions for the final, longer go-home session and blatantly refused to participate in any of them. I can only do so much. All things aside, I am happy for both you and Blu. It seems you found a training facility that fits your needs. I still thank you for the opportunity to be part of Blu’s journey and wish you nothing but the greatest success as you continue moving forward. Respectfully Raylynn Ohana Dog Training
