Allergic Reaction: There is a small possibility of an allergic reaction. You have the option to request a pigment patch test. An allergic reaction could happen months to even years after the procedure or skin testing. As such, Muse Beauty Bar patch tests are not performed to diagnose or foresee an allergy. As this will involve the use of products and time, Muse Beauty Bar charges $25 for testing. While Muse Beauty Bar will implant the pigment; reading a pigment skin test of any kind must be performed by your physician at your own cost. Tint will color brow hair for about 4-6 weeks, and MAY stain skin behind your brow hair for a max of 48 hours. If you are looking to stain the skin for a fuller effect than henna is a better option.

Whilst brow henna is a mostly natural product and is derived from plants, there is always a chance of an allergic reaction, as everyone’s skin is completely unique, which is why it’s impossible to predict. Henna brow mix also contains very small amounts of PPD, which is the same chemical found in traditional brow and hair dyes and has the potential to cause a reaction.

Patch tests should happen at least 48 hours before your brow appointment. This will allow enough time for any sensitivities or allergies to show up prior to the booking.

We also recommend completing a patch test again every six months, as a brow henna allergy can be cumulative. This means that whilst you may not react the first time you have henna applied, you may after multiple treatments as our skin can change and people can react to things they weren’t previously allergic to.
