I recommend this trainer, one because he has patience!! Having a Siberian Husky requires a lot of patience and consistency, due to them having a mind of their own. He repeatedly has showed me many things I've needed help with. Thanks to him my pup even passed his CGC.

I first met Luke 3 years ago when my basset calamity was a puppy. She went through extensive training and she absolutely loved working with Luke! Now we’re working with Luke again as he introduced us to Mantrailing! Sniffing is what this girl loves to do! She is a very shy and sensitive girl but this has helped her gain confidence and come out of her shell with new people. 10 out of 10! Luke is the only trainer I trust my sensitive girl with.

Thank you so much, Melissa — I’m thrilled your basset has enjoyed the training and that mantrailing has helped her gain confidence. It’s a privilege to work with shy, sensitive dogs and to earn your trust over the years. I look forward to more sniffing adventures together.

What a great experience. Luke taught us a lot in working with our puppy from basic to advanced all in private sessions. Then adding on group sessions so much fun.

I have know Luke for about 5 years now and his ability to connect with animals and people is unmatched. He is quick to asses problems and how to fix them. He is very effective and I cannot recommend him enough to anyone with a dog in need of training

We met Luke at our very first introductory class for mantrailing, where Luke was an instructor. Bobby was overwhelmed and did not want to leave my side. Luke served as his first ever trail layer and Bobby immediately connected, which was significant in that he was especially reserved around men. Luke is the Bobby whisperer!!!

Thank you so much for your kind words, MaryAnn. We’re thrilled Luke was able to help Bobby feel comfortable and make that immediate connection, especially given his reservations around men. We’ll be sure to pass along your “Bobby whisperer” compliment to him. We look forward to seeing you and Bobby in future classes.
Man, where do I begin. Luke, his training is like no one else. He is understanding, caring and wants nothing more than what’s best for your pup. He has years of experience and I met his company at a show. I signed up for my little girl Oakley and little did I find out we become such great friends. He believed in me, and helped me every step of the way to train Oakley. All dogs are different, some may have more needs than others. Some may pick up training quickly but luke is the first one to pick out the good and bad in all dogs and quickly swiftly can begin helping correct the pup! I 100% will bring our next puppy to him. He helped correct Oakley, and she listens every time. She absolutely loves him, and trust him just as much as I do. We frequently go to group training when able with him, as a recap. There are very few people in this world I trust with my Oakley, and he’s one of them. I know she’s safe with him and trust him with everything. I recommend him to everyone I met who asks about Oakleys obedience and training. Don’t over think it, book with him. He’ll forever change you and your pup! I promise you, you won’t regret hiring him for your dog! Oakleys confidence is superb compared to other dogs her age. She’s just shy of a year and a half, and the amount of confidence she has, I owe it all to Luke and his training! You will not regret it! SIGN UP!

Luke is an enthusiastic instructor, cares about both the client and their dog on a personal level. I have done Mantrailing with his dog Cowboy for two years, and enjoy the energy Luke gives to support that program.

Luke is amazing! He helped me a year ago with my aggressive/reactive dog Karma and have us amazing tips which helped us manage her reactivity. I now go to him for group classes with my new pup which has been a joy and so helpful for his development.

Disclaimer/Update for Fake Response by Owner
This business is run by one person. The owner is responding as if this was reviewed by someone else, but Luke was the one who originally commented, the one I spoke with, and the one responding now.
Bringing up medication/scheudle had nothing to do with the issue. The issue was how the conversation was handled.
This response feels more like an attempt to defend a negative review than address the actual concern. Luke could have avoided this entire situation through professional communication.
Original Review
How you treat people matters. I’ll quote you:
“I started Cowboy & Co. because I believe every dog and every family deserves training that makes sense for them, their circumstances, their personalities, and their needs. I got tired of seeing one-size-fits-some training programs and decided I would never do that to my clients.”
When I specifically spoke to them, I stated I was looking for a temporary foster while I am away. I made it very clear this was NOT a paid service. I was not looking for obedience or trick training. I shared examples of what the puppy is currently learning and explained exactly what I was looking for.
The best part is he used his personal account to refer me to his business account after reading my post stating EXACTLY what I was looking for. He was fully aware of the situation before our conversation.
However, despite his own words, he did not believe my foster or myself deserved an approach that made sense for our circumstances, our personalities, or our needs. Instead, he decided it had to be done his way.
I made it clear in my post, in my message, and again during our conversation that this was not a paid training inquiry. It was a request for a temporary foster situation. Despite that, the conversation repeatedly came back to how he trains, what he would do differently, and payment.
The issue is not that he wanted payment. The issue is not that we disagreed.
The issue is that I made myself clear in my post, in my message, and again during our conversation. I was upfront about what I was looking for and that this was not a paid service.
He used his personal account to refer me to his business account after reading that post. He knew exactly what I was asking for before the conversation ever started. He knew I was looking for someone willing to continue a specific approach with this puppy, and he knew I was looking for a volunteer foster situation.
If that wasn’t something he agreed with, he could have simply said so and moved on.
Instead, he chose to engage in the conversation anyway, repeatedly brought it back to how he trains, what he would do differently, and payment.
When I politely said, “I don’t think this is a good fit, thank you,” I was the one declining. I chose not to work with him.
Instead of responding professionally and moving on, he chose to end the conversation with a sarcastic comment about finding someone willing to do things exactly the way I want at no cost.
Yes, I wanted things done a certain way at no cost. I stated that from the beginning. You knew that before you contacted me. You knew that before you referred me to your business. If that was a problem, there was no reason to engage in the conversation in the first place.
This is a business. Not everyone is going to agree with you, hire you, or choose your services. Professionalism matters. Your business reputation is built on how you treat people, especially when they decide not to work with you.
If you felt I was wrong, that’s fine. If you disagreed with my approach, that’s fine. If you didn’t want to help, that’s fine. There was no reason to be rude.
THAT’S why I did not choose you. And it put your name and business with a bad taste in my mouth.
So now this is how it looks. I want people to be careful about who they choose to do business with because character matters. Your character was shown, and there is no chance I would ever let you near any of my animals or fosters.
And yes, I have screenshots.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We have reviewed the full conversation carefully and want to respond honestly, because accuracy matters to us — and so does the trust of ANYONE reading this.
You shared two detailed infographics with your request — a full daily schedule and a training goals document. Both explicitly mentioned morning and evening medications, a specific behavioral philosophy, and a structured routine with 8+ timed intervals throughout the day. When Luke asked about medications and training, he did so because that is the responsible thing to do as a potential temporary foster. He asked clarifying questions about your training approach because of the detailed documents you included. This is not something a person does when ignoring a request — they are questions anyone should ask before taking in a medicated dog with a specific care routine.
Payment came up exactly once, and only in the context of clarifying the difference between a foster situation and a formal training engagement. Also a reasonable distinction for a professional to make.
You're right that the final remark in the conversation was sharper than it needed to be, and we own that. It wasn't the right note to end on.
What we cannot agree with is the characterization that Luke ignored what you were looking for or repeatedly steered the conversation toward his own interests. The questions he asked were directly prompted by the materials you shared. A foster willing to maintain the dog's medication schedule and behavioral routine deserves to understand exactly what that involves — and so does the dog.
We wish you both well, and genuinely hope that Rusty finds the right temporary foster.
