When I first got my dog little by little he started acting out. It got to point that I knew that we needed professional training. Club Canine is no joke. It is not a quick fix but if you are willing to put the work in, you and your dog will come out better in the end. It became such a huge part of our lives that we have stayed on to do more advanced training. Benji and I qualified with perfect scores in Obedience Rally Novice thanks to the hard work from the team at the Club Canine. He also comes twice a week for daycare and boards here for longer times as well. Benji loves it here and I know that when he stays he is comfortable, happy and is still required to follow rules which he definitely needs. Club Canine is like family to us. Thank you all for your guidance over the years.

This is a story of a girl (me, your 120 pound protagonist… please root for her) who decided to get her dream dog (an 85 pound EUROPEAN doberman). If you are wondering why European is emphasized, just look up a photo of European dobie next to an American dobie, spoiler, europeans are larger which is part of the reason why the girl wanted one…makes perfect sense right? She also didn’t do much other research (despite her parents’ wishes 😉). Brilliant! I think you can tell where this story is going. Anyway, the girl gets the most beautiful perfect European doberman puppy. Awesome! Fast forward 9 months and the girl is being taken on walks by her European doberman PUPPY. Way less awesome! Luckily for you and me, this protagonist is no quitter. She is desperate to find someone ANYONE to help her get control of her beloved dog. Enter hero: Club Canine. ### The story doesn’t have an ending yet, but let me tell you, it’ll be a happy one. When I inquired with Club Canine, I was on vacation and it took me forever to complete the necessary forms. Dean was so patient and worked us into his schedule when I returned home. He did his first home visit with us and at first what he was saying sounded nearly impossible. I have a full time job and a pretty busy life. Dean and the entire Club Canine team encouraged and trained us to get where we are today — almost out of the beginner class! 🥳 What you will find in Club Canine is not just the best dog trainers in Houston. You’ll find friends, community, and support all around. I can’t say enough good things about Club Canine, but if you are even considering pulling the trigger, know this, it’s 10000% worth it. For as long as I’m in Houston, I will be bothering them!!! Shoutout to Dallas for all of the helpful guidance along the way. Also, to Don for being a joy and full of helpful tips! Dean and Dallas at Club Canine truly saved our relationship with our high-drive American Labrador, Zuko. We unknowingly purchased Zuko from a breeder specializing in field trial Labradors, and within just a few months, it became clear that we were in over our heads. Initially, we tried training him with a popular dog trainer in the Heights who used a treat-based reward system. Unfortunately, after more than six months of effort, this method got us nowhere, and Zuko's behavior only deteriorated further. At one point, we even considered rehoming him because he seemed completely uncontrollable. Thankfully, we gave it one last try and found Club Canine. During our initial consultation, Dean managed to calm and settle Zuko for over an hour—a feat we had never seen before. We were immediately convinced. After five months of working with Dean and Dallas, Zuko earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title. We continue to train with Club Canine, pursuing advanced certifications and continually improving Zuko's obedience. This program requires a lot of dedication and consistency, but the results are incredibly rewarding. The bond we now share with Zuko is stronger than ever, and the transformation in his behavior has been remarkable.

I’m a big fan of Club Canine. They have done great work and helped me with both JC and Gracie. Dean Miller is legit. He loves dogs and know what they think and how to work with them.

Dean and his team have been a huge help in getting our wirehaired pointing griffon started off with basic obedience, to more advanced skills, to gundog work that is all built on a solid foundation.

Amazing training program, focusing on both the owner and the dog. When I first started training with Dean I thought I had a great relationship with my two dogs but not great control of them. I’ve since learned I didn’t have either. Be warned! The program at Club Canine takes dedication, patience, hard work and a willingness to do things differently. It’s a challenging experience with a significant reward. The bond I’ve developing with my dogs is indescribable. I’m confident by the end of the program I will have two very well-behaved pets both at home and in public. Thank you (Dean and Dallas) for your coaching and guidance. It’s been an enlightening experience and I look forward to continuing the journey. We cannot recommend Club Canine enough! These trainers are exceptional in their knowledge of dogs and how to build effective communication skills with your dog. We would have been lost without their guidance. After trying two other training services in Houston to help us handle our anxious and aggressive German Shepherd, we still were not seeing results. Club Canine was our last resort - and the difference in our dog is night and day. Our pup went from an anxious, fearful and people & dog-aggressive dog to a focused, obedient, trusting companion. We wish that we would have started with Club Canine first! After a year and a half of training and pack socials with Club Canine, we ended up having to move out of Texas, and thanks to Club Canine we felt completely comfortable that our dog would succeed in any situation we put her in. And she did! During our move, she had to be around several other dogs and people as we visited family members, and she was great around them. She now knows how to focus, do anything we tell her to do, and she respects us - ALL without any treats. This is a complete 180 from her pre-Club Canine days. Club Canine not only makes your dog a better dog, but most importantly, equips you with the skills you need to be the best dog owner that you can be. We are truly so thankful for all that Club Canine has helped us with -- they saved us and our dog! Highly, highly recommend this group- they are the BEST trainers in Houston.

Would highly recommend. Our dog was very aggressive toward other dogs when we adopted him. We were at a loss on how to handle him (and his behavior) until we started working with Dallas and the rest of the Club Canine team. The training was a lot of work, and continues to be; however, our dog’s progress has been amazing. He is now confident and calm around other dogs. We have no worries taking him out in public where we know there will be other dogs. That is something we could have never done before we started training. I am so grateful we found Club Canine!

At Club Canine staff and members are very devoted and help you acheive the wonderful dream you first imagined when you first got your cute little puppy. Club canine accepts all ages of dogs. It is fun looking back when my dog was still a little puppy, and we thought she was a lost cause! I think if you are willing to work hard and put in effort to training your dog Club canine will help you get wherever you want to go, whether that is winning dog training competitions or sitting at home reading with your dog at your feet. When I first joined Club canine and started doing the training exercises my puppy was the happiest I had ever seen her! Now my dog knows advanced tricks and simple ones, like knowing not to go upstairs without permission. All and all I think if you want a positive experience with your dog, and you want to have a bond with your pup, then Club canine is the place to go! The prior was written by my daughter, I too can attest that Dean and team are experts in the field and offer a rewarding program suitable for the individual or a whole family. The Club Canine team takes time and care to help you reach your goals, and will hold you accountable to those goals!

When our dog landed literally on our doorstep, and we only had cats, we contacted Dean with Club Canine within 2 weeks. Club Canine’s training method is unique, and a lot of work (A LOT oF work), consistency, and effort on the owner’s part, but it’s amazing to see the results. In our home, our cats can walk around our dog with no qualms, and we have peace and quiet in our home. While we are still learning and training, Dean, Dallas, and Club Canine saved our peace and sanity. The program truly works.

We are still working with the whole crew at club canine (and still have a lot to learn). But, our experience so far has been great. We adopted a 2 year old terrier mix who was/is extremely reactive. I was practically crying after our first visit to the vet because of how aggressive and how much she barked at the other dogs, and we didn’t know what to do. I reached out to Dean at a friend’s recommendation around February, and we started working with Club Canine. The whole process felt somewhat overwhelming at first (and at different times throughout), but our dog has improved so much from when we first adopted her. Don’t expect anything to be sugarcoated or an easy fix, but I have appreciated that part of club canine. I really started to appreciate the training once I realized that it wasn’t only improving our lives as dog owners, but also our dog’s life - she was a happier dog once we were doing training and as we continue to work with club canine.

I grew up on a 10,000 acre ranch filed with animals and I've never met a better trainer than Dean. Club Canine goes beyond just training tricks. They dig deeper into your relationship with your dog to teach the dog to make good choices. He teaches proper behavior for you as well as your dog. You will have a perfectly behaved pooch if you are consistent with the process. Club Canine has progressively turned our nightmare of dogs behaving badly into a paradise of peace for us. Where do I begin? Dean and the rest of the folks at Club Canine were truly our last hope when it came to our maladjusted 135lb Saint Bernard. Due to circumstances beyond our control as well as many of our own errors with our dog, she became fear aggressive. When you have a 135lb dog with aggression issues, you have to drop everything and try to address the problems. We tried other trainers who used food-based training which simply did not work. When we found Dean, we were desperate. Within just a few weeks, our dog was truly transformed. He did not sugar coat anything, which is exactly what we and our dog needed. Dean is as much there to train you as a dog handler as he is there to train the dog itself. We had to fully transform our way of interacting with our dog, and he made sure to firmly walk us through this difficult process. We had not been able to trim our dog's nails or take her to the vet in nearly 9 months due to her fear and aggression. After only one month of hard, diligent work, we were finally able to cut her nails without a muzzle or sedation. She is now interacting with strangers without barking or biting, and she loves to listen to us and follow commands. If you are struggling with a dog who may have aggression issues, please contact Dean immediately. He truly saved us and saved our dog!!

Club Canine is not just your basic training facility for people who want to do a few commands and never think about "training" again. However, it IS for anyone seeking to build a healthy, confident relationship with their dog(s). Over the past 7 months we have seen our dog go from immature and impulsive to confident and enjoyable to be around. He's always been cute :), but he frequently peed when meeting new people, did not listen, and was insecure in social settings. Our dog can do so much more than we thought possible and so can I with the skills we've both gained by training with Club Canine! I would also like to note that during our 7 months of training, boarding, and daycare times at Club Canine I have seen dogs of all ages from a large variety of backgrounds make the same tremendous progress that we've seen develop with our dog, George. I love that young and old dogs can learn new tricks at Club Canine!

We are such big fans of Club Canine. I. Just a few short months, Dean, Dallas, and the whole team have already helped us begin to transform our formerly skittish and fear reactive rescue dog into a confident girl who is now socializing with our friends and family and attentive to us in a room full of other dogs or distractions (things that used to trigger her). Club Canine’s method requires a commitment from both you and your dog. You’ll work on the skills every day and in the beginning things may feel restrictive before they become freeing in order to allow you to get a handle on your dogs behavior. That said, this program WORKS and even after a few short months we are seeing a remarkable improvement and the light at the end of the tunnel where new experiences will be possibile as a result of all we (and our dog) have learned! I cannot recommend Club Canine and their team highly enough!

Mr. Dean took the time to understand our dog's needs and behavior patterns, tailoring training accordingly. He answered our questions clearly, and he has specific expertise in addressing our dog's particular behavioral concerns.

My dog has "trained" with 3 prior trainers. After barely any improvement in her behavior issues, my husband and I meet with Dean to seek help. He spent more than 2 hours explaining to us dog behavior and helping us understand where her issues stem from. He also coached us on handling a dog with her kind of problems. After just a single training session, we've all been doing better with Daisy being significantly calmer and my husband and I doing a better job at enforcing discipline.

I have complete confidence that Dean can help us with behavior modification for 3 yr old Chow rescue dog. Our first in-home meeting was very educational, and within less than a week we are seeing positive results.

Our association with Club Canine began with a house call from owner Dean Miller. We were desperate. Our lovable family pit Damian became an attack dog overnight...he was suddenly “that pit”. No other dog in the house was safe and i was frankly afraid I didn’t have the strength to pull him off if he attacked them. A trip to our vet resulted in a prescription for Prosac....and luckily a phone number for Dean. His assessment of all 3 of our dogs....who crated where, what behaviors we’re allowed, and a look at their individual demeanors pointed to all 3 having issues, and Damian in 100% chaos. Dean has a philosophy on dog behavior that you’ll believe or you won’t. After seeing what he could accomplish in just a few hours, we were all in, and made a serious commitment to rehabilitating our dogs. The time and effort to do this is significant to put it mildly. The exercises need to be done daily and consistently. But Dean, his assistants Dallas, Don and everyone at Club Canine supported us fully and they still do. Covid-19 has disrupted life as we knew it, dogs included, and CC was there to sustain the training. No dog is perfect, but our 3, and Damian in particular, have become pets with whom we can communicate the behavior we want to see. Their lives are safer, calmer, controlled, and we are forever grateful for what Club Canine has taught us all. And that’s the thing...the owner needs the rehabilitation as much as the dog, and you’ll both end up feeling like champions🎖 .

Great first training session with Dean! Learned so much about how to interact with my doggie so that he learns what is ok and not ok to do. Very clear instruction and I’m feeling optimistic. Can’t wait to practice our new techniques!

The trainer, Dean, was very knowledgeable and didn't try to sugar coat anything. He gave clear and fair training methods that made sense while not being too harsh on the dog. He even gave a little demonstration on the attention exercise, and within the couple minutes of the exercise, we were already able to see some results. He even sends us texts to check in on us and the dog to answer any questions we have. Great experience all around.

I can’t say enough good things about club canine. We started training our border collies with them and it changed our lives. We had two dogs with major impulse control and behavioral issues. They are different dogs now! Easy to walk, polite, and obedient. They don’t just gloss over issues, they fix them at the root cause.

Our black lab puppy went from so bad to so good with positive reinforcement guidance of Dean and his team! We used both boot camp and at home training. We will continue to use Dean through the puppy months and then graduate into advanced training with him! Thank you Dean for saving our home life!

They are PASSIONATE about dogs. Sure it is a business, but they truly care about your dog’s wellbeing. Call them up or email them, they seem to know what they are doing. Sure, they take great care of your dog, but their customer service is also superb. Your dog will start asking you to bring them here.

BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS .... $300 down the drain and they won't refund or return my calls or texts. In January, I contacted the owner Dean about helping me find a breed of puppy that is hard to find. I told him I'd already done my research and was speaking to a couple of breeders outside Texas and that everyone in Texas does not have any puppies available in the near future. After 2 phone calls, Dean - with his big vibrato, told me he would help me search and find me a puppy for $300 (which would include locating a puppy and a first kennel training session once the puppy is home.) after I paid the $ he went quiet. I only heard from him 1 more time - when I CALLED HIM a week later to ask about any progress. He told me he emailed the 2 breeders I was already in touch with and he had asked around Texas and that there are no puppies available in the near future ( which I had already TOLD HIM.) I contacted the 2 breeders he said he emailed (mostly because I didn't know what he would say and worried his bold personality might be off putting) and they both said they had NOT received any communication from him, at all. So, I gave it a few weeks and decided to text Dean a polite professional text asking for the return of my $300 since he did not in fact do anything. .... His reply... NOTHING ... so I resent the text and called his # and left a message a few days later ... NO REPLY. Dean just ghosted me after he swindled me out of $300. Bad business person, aggressive personality, con man. I do not recommend Dean or Club Canine

Meant to leave a review many years ago, but was too traumatized. I just passed this trainer with clients IN THE BUSY ROAD and was reminded how horrible an experience we had with him literally abusing my dog right in front of me!! He was showing us how to do the backwards walk and YANK if she didn’t pay attention and he had a pack of dogs to follow them around and he started HANGING her from the leash so much I started crying and ended training immediately as she had BLOOD and CUTS all over her poor neck. There’s better ways of training your beloved pets people! Choose literally anyone else to help you.

Do not send your dog to this man!! He enjoys hanging your dog by its leash for punishment. Shame on you club canine!!

Rude. Extremely rough with dogs. Might be necessary for some, but not for 16 month old puppies.
