This is a continuous enrollment class - which means when class has at least 2 puppies but not more than 4 puppies, classes will continue each week for a maximum of 5 consecutive weeks per puppy. If there is not at least 2 puppies, class will not be held. Designed for puppies 8 weeks to 16 weeks at the start of class. Puppies older than 16 weeks should enroll in Canine Manners 1. Puppy socialization is a time sensitive phase- making the most of this limited, precious period by exposing them to unfamiliar situations, people and other dogs in a positive manner. During this small window of time, you are highly influencing their adult temperament and personality. No other time in their lives will be as influential. My classes provide a highly educational 'Puppy 101' for humans, while the puppies are learning basic manners and off leash playing allows the best chance to interact with other puppies, humans, and the environment. ** Puppy Basics with Socialization is designed to facilitate socialization, address normal puppy behaviors, and prevent the development of behavior problems. Puppy Basics with Socialization is not designed to treat serious behavior problems (such as aggression, anxiety, or extreme fear). As a continuation of Canine Manners 1, I have added a new level of difficulty to the behaviors we established in the first level. The process of using steps to build on these behaviors helps the dogs become very motivated and successful quick learners. Despite an increased level of temptation and distraction around them, your dog learns to listen and follow our request to: 1) use self-control walking on a leash 2) come instead of running to distraction 3) wait at doorways 4) politely greet visitors - next level and many more!​ *A prerequisite for this class is successful completion of Canine Manners 1 or similar class.
