In class Focus Sessions provide individualized training for your dog during our regular classes while you’re away. A dedicated trainer will practice one-on-one with your dog, working on essentials skills and creating a history of positive reinforcement in the class environment.

This targeted approach is ideal for dogs who are easily distracted in a group environment or for owners who want their dog to have additional practice in these settings from a professional trainer.

Please note that these sessions are a supplement to the classes that you are already taking with your dog as well as the training you are doing at home. They are not a replacement for the training you do with your dog.

This free program for puppies between 8-20 weeks is designed to take advantage of your puppy’s important socialization period.

Birth to 16 weeks is the most significant time in your puppy’s development to build a solid foundation for a lifetime of positive interactions. In this class we focus on proper socialization which is: first, creating positive experiences to people, sights, sounds, objects, etc. in a safe and controlled setting; and second, helping your puppy learn to adapt to new and novel things and experiences.

We will also include puppy-to-puppy interactions which includes interactive activities and on rare occasions will include group or paired play.

At the age of 13 weeks, we encourage owners to sign up for a class membership to attend both this class and the Puppy Star Skills to begin introducing foundational training to complement their social development.

A well-rounded puppy is a joy to live with. Puppy Star Skills is designed to work in tandem with our Puppy Power Weeks, providing a full-circle approach to your pup’s development. Because we believe proper socialization is a lifelong journey, it remains a core element of this class and pairs continued positive exposure and social neutrality with the how-to of everyday manners.

This membership-based class focuses on the concrete and concept skills that help your puppy navigate the world with confidence and focus. It’s the perfect environment to layer on practical foundations while deepening the bond you’ve started with your new best friend. As puppies reach 8 months or master their foundations, they will graduate into our standard Skills classes to continue their training journey.

What we focus on:

Ongoing Socialization: Maintaining confidence through novel sights, sounds, and guided dog-to-dog proximity.

The Partnership: Building connection and a clear line of communication between you and your pup.

R+ Rattlesnake Avoidance

Protect your dog without the use of fear or pain. Our 8 week R+ Rattlesnake Avoidance class uses only positive reinforcement to teach your dog that the sight, scent, or sound of a rattlesnake is a cue to “check-in” with you immediately.

Instead of teaching your dog to run away in fear, we build a reliable, high-value communication signal. Your dog learns to proactively alert you to the presence of a snake, going you the critical time needed to move to safety together.

After the 8 week course, you will be eligible to join our Rattlesnake Extension drop-in classes where you can continue to build and generalize the skills learned in this class.
