Urban Dog Socialization: Foundations for Real-World Living

4-Dog Small Group Class

Socialization isn’t about saying hello to every dog or person—it’s about learning how to exist calmly and confidently in a busy, ever-changing world.

This small-group class is designed to help dogs and their humans understand what socialization truly means, especially in modern city environments filled with noise, movement, crowds, and unpredictability. With only four dogs per class, we focus on quality experiences, thoughtful exposure, and building skills that help dogs navigate the world without overwhelm.

In this class, dogs will learn how to:

Observe their environment without needing to react

Build comfort around unfamiliar dogs, people, sounds, and movement

Develop emotional regulation and recovery skills

Practice appropriate social choices rather than forced interactions

Handlers will learn:

What healthy socialization actually looks like

How to read stress, curiosity, and engagement in their dog

How to support their dog through new experiences without flooding or pressure

How to create a clear, realistic plan for continued social growth outside of class

This class is ideal for dogs who:

Live in urban or suburban environments

Need help adjusting to city life, public spaces, or busy surroundings

Are social, unsure, over-excited, or selectively reactive

Would benefit from structured exposure rather than chaotic dog interactions

Our goal is not perfection—it’s progress. Each dog moves forward at their own pace, building confidence, neutrality, and trust in their human’s guidance.
