What Certifications are Needed for Basketball Coaches?

Along with a first aid and CPR certificate, a basketball instructor will also require education accreditation. You are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as exercise science, physical education, physiology, or sports medicine.

As an aspiring instructor, you will have the option to pursue programs in exercise and physical education; however, some schools offer unique degree programs that will specialize in instructor training. These programs teach students how to work with their athletes, develop proper game plans, and implement physical conditioning and techniques development programs.
